Position Overview

The CNC Toolmaker / Programmer position will provide support to the Automation Department in the manufacture of machined components for Automation machine builds and retrofits.  This position will also be the resident CNC and robotics expert, which will include recommending capital to improve CNC capabilities, supporting production with advanced optimization and troubleshooting, and recommending the best processes for adding robotics applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Key Responsibilities/Key Duties
  • Set up, program and run CNC Mill and/or Lathe to produce machine build parts according to the print for the Automation Department.
  • Support and advise the CNC Production Department Lead with optimization, troubleshooting, development of new processes and proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Research and recommend CNC and robotic equipment to improve TCR’s capabilities
  • Assist Engineering in the capital justification for adding equipment
  • Control Tooling costs by proper tool selection and using proper speeds and feeds to maximize tool life.
  • Work to continuously improve quality and efficiency and develop a Best In Culture
  • Maintain good communication with department manager.
  • Maintain a positive working environment within all departments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area within the department.
  • Adhere to all safety, ISO/TS policies and report violations to manager.
  • Participate in all company training.
Desired and/or Required Skills and Experience
  • Associates degree or completion of a 2 year CNC Machining program plus 5 years of related experience
  • Experience using CAM software efficiently. Virtual Gibbs preferred.
  • Experience with Robotics a plus.  Training will be supported for candidates with little to no robotics experience.
  • Able to work at a fast pace and able to adjust schedule to meet customer demands.
  • Efficient using computers.
