Position Overview

The Lead Acme Operator will oversee activities in the Acme department to ensure parts are safely manufactured to customer specification and produced on time, will trouble shoot problem parts and performs minor maintenance on machine equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Key Responsibilities/Key Duties
  • Set up and operate various machines following specifications and applying knowledge of operation.
  • Assign work responsibilities and duties to operators in the department and provide back-up support.
  • Train and assist other operators to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Adjust, change and order tooling for jobs.
  • Troubleshoot problems in production.
  • Monitor accuracy of labor reporting.
  • Maintain and repair equipment to insure quality operations.
  • Assist in the development of new products and recommend design and production improvements.
  • Work with other departments to identify, analyze and resolve quality concerns.
  • Perform minor machine repairs and follow daily maintenance procedures and document.
  • Inspect parts in process to insure customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and other management staff.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.
  • Participate in all company training.
Desired and/or Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma plus five to eight years directly related experience.
  • Attain forklift certification.
  • Maintain good communication with Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive working environment within all departments.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Work at a fast pace and able to adjust schedule to meet customer demands.
